Life Member since 1999
A physical education trained professional, Elizabeth was introduced to wheelchair basketball in 1980 while running the gym at the Glen Waverly Rehabilitation Centre.
During her time in rehabilitation Liz was instrumental in getting people involved in sport and recreation, often providing transport services to sporting events. Liz was impressed by the positive influence the sport had on her players.
Since her involvement with Disability Sport & Recreation in 1984, she has served for 13 years on the Board (1984-1988 and 2007-2014) and played an integral role in managing a number of National Games.
Liz is proud to have been part of our organisation and was involved in its expansion from wheelchair sports to supporting all people with disability.
She has also been involved with the Victorian Department of Community Services (now the Department of Human Services) and VicRoads, while also finding time to be a director of Volleyball Victoria.
