All Abilities Regional Inclusion Week

Hobsons Bay City Council, Wyndham City Council, Brimbank City Council, Maribyrnong City Council and Melton City Councils along with its various clubs and associated centres, invite you to come and try a range of activities across all the Council regions. See below for a full list of activities. Bookings are essential.


All Abilities Regional Inclusion Week is from the Sunday 28 November 2021 to Sunday 5 December 2021.



This week of exciting activities are in partnership with Disability Sport & Recreation and leads into our inclusive, accessible and family-friendly Victorian Disability Sport & Recreation Festival. Come along and try different inclusive sport and recreational activities at Crown Riverwalk, Southbank on Friday 3 December 2021 from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

Inclusion Awareness training – Supporting people with disability

Delivery of a 90-minute practical inclusive workshop for clubs, with the elements of supporting people with disability to participate.


This includes the incorporation of both practical and content knowledge and learnings for clubs considering adding disability programs to their services, through the following discussion points:

  • Disability – broad overview

  • Communication with participants and parents

  • Gathering information needed to support. What does the conversation look like?

  • Modifying sport and activities

  • Safe and supportive environments (how we assess and modify environments)

  • Practical examples

When: Wednesday 1 December 2021, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Soccer program for kids with special needs. Open to all genders aged 5-15 Teaches coordination and ball skills through a variety of games. It's flexible and fun. Runs from April - August. It's Free.

Brimbank City Council - Westvale Community Centre

3 Dec 2021, 10.30-11.30am

Increase energy, reduce anxiety and gain mind-body balance through simple movements and breathing techniques. Suitable for beginners, seniors and people with mobility issues.

Altona Badminton Centre - Ability Para Badminton Club

4 Dec 2021, 11am - 1pm + a community BBQ afterwards

Come 'N' Try Para Badminton. Ages 8 to 80.

Specialist Hoops Basketball

1 Dec 2021, 11am-1pm

Learn to play Basketball in a friendly, safe, non-judgmental, environment that has the added benefits of fitness and social interaction. The program runs every Friday 4pm from the Melton Indoor Rec Center. 2022 will see us operate from the new Cobblebank Stadium

Keilor Public Golf Course

All Abilities Golf Clinic with AAA PGA qualified coach Scott Wearne. Suitable for beginners, equipment provided

Brimbank Bicycle Education Centre

Participants can ride normal or specialty bicycles or tricycles on our fully operational bicycle track. Bikes, Trikes and Helmets will be provided

St Albans Saints FIDA Football and FIDA Juniors

- FIDA stands for Football Integration Development Association which is Aussies Rules Football League for all genders with disabilities ages 15 years and over. Note - Over 40 years requires a medical check to play in the FIDA League


- Come and try the new FIDA Juniors program set to begin in 2022. The program is an all abilities Aussie Rules program for boys and girls aged 10 - 14.5 years old.

Taylors Lakes Football Club Inc

The Little Lakers program uses short game-based sessions to introduce the sport of Soccer to beginners. The program focuses on learning new skills, being active and making life-long friends.

BlueFit Swimming offer Made For You Swim Lessons to the Hobsons Bay Special Needs Community. We propose on this date to arrange community groups supporting these families to attend 20 minute in-water sessions

Western Region All Abilities Cricket

Come and try cricket game (not suitable for wheelchairs)

Williamstown Open Water Swim Coaching

30 Nov 2021, 12-1pm

Come and try swimming in the sea, learn how to feel comfortable in the water and build confidence. This session is for teens and adults with an intellectual disability. Parents, Carers and supporters are welcome.
