Sport and recreation play an important role in the rehabilitation of children with disability.
Being physically active can dramatically improve a child’s overall health and wellbeing. Through playing sport and games while in hospital, a child can make new friends, become more independent and confident and work towards therapy goals.
All this contributes to a shorter hospital stay and faster recovery.
Once a month we visit the Monash and Royal Children’s Hospitals to showcase a different sport or activity for the children to try. It helps them discover new sport and recreation opportunities they can take part in when they finish rehabilitation.
Can we please count on your help?
By supporting our DSR Kids hospital program, you can help improve the lives of children with disability at the Monash and Royal Children’s Hospitals.
Thank you for caring.
